24. Peter Ostrum
Peter Ostrum’s claim to fame was playing the role of Charlie Bucket in the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. He was scouted for the role when he was 12 and had to rely on reading Roald Dahl’s book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, at the start. You would have thought that getting a taste of Hollywood would make him want to pursue a career in this industry, but Ostrum chose a different path after.
This one-time child actor went on to get a degree in veterinary and is currently working at the Countryside Veterinary Clinic in New York. For the then-actor, he found acting to be a difficult job, which was one of the reasons why he shifted profession after the film. It seems that he has found his calling taking care of large animals, which also contributed hugely to his growing net worth.
